Simple Turkey Chili

I love this version of chili, made with ground turkey instead of ground beef so it's a little on the healthier side. If I have it I sometimes add a can of corn but it's a complete personal preference.

1 1/2 tsp. olive oil
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 chopped yellow onion
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can kidney beans (drained/rinsed)
1 can chili beans
1 Tbs. minced garlic
2 Tbs. chili powder
1/2 tsp of each: paprika, oregano, cumin, salt and black pepper
dash of nutmeg and cinnamon (less is best)

Brown ground turkey in pot with chopped onions and olive oil. Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil and reduce to simmer 1/2 hr to hour....depending on your preference. The longer the better because the flavor will thicken. Enjoy!!

{please don't be too critical of this picture, I know it doesn't look TOO appetizing, but I promise it is!!}
